When a mega Euro Tour (which also kind of has all your last hopes and finances pinned on) goes haywire and then turns out to be an utmost failure, you are usually not expected to do a complete u-turn, start afresh and then triumph. But Canadian Band Anvil has done all its fans proud and sent out a positive message to all passionate, budding musician- never, ever, ever give up on your dreams, no matter how many barriers you stumble upon, and no matter how spectacular your failures are. If there is undying passion and optimism in you, these very spectacular failures will transform into magnanimous success one day.
A truly acclaimed concert movie
For the members of Anvil, the main element of breakthrough has not been the commercial success that their real life story has garnered. As per them, it has been the fact that struggling musicians have now started adulating them as poster-boys, and their tale of triumph has been able to inspire countless such musicians to keep playing and follow their dreams, no matter what. When asked about their personal favorite part about the movie reception, there were certain contrasting choices, but on one account, they all unified and had a common perception- it was receiving the Best Documentary Award from the God of Rock, Chris Martin himself, at the British Film Awards Ceremony conducted by Evening Standard in London!
Past and Present Members
It is true for any band that has survived for more than 10 to 15 years, that there would be shuffles in terms of members leaving and joining. As long as that doesn’t bring down the overall quality of music and performances, it is perfectly fine. Given the fact that Anvil has survived and prospered for almost decades now, it is imperative that the starting list of band members be quite different from the present list. The present list includes Chris Robertson, Steve Lips Kudlow and Robb Reiner, while some of the past members who gradually phased out or chose to opt out, included Dave Allison, Sebastian Marino, Mike Duncan, Ivan Hurd and Sal Italiano. Well, as the popular saying goes, the show must go on!
